Evaluation of Management Information systems and Their Impact on the Efficiency of Higher Education Institutions A Field Study on Selected Colleges and Higher Technical Institutes in Wade Al-Shati-Libya

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of Management Information Systems (MIS) in Libyan higher education institutions through a field study conducted on selected colleges and higher institutes in Wadi Al-Shati, Libya. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach as it is considered suitable for analyzing administrative phenomena and examining the relationships between study variables. A questionnaire was used as the main tool for data collection from employees, administrators, and faculty members in the selected institutions. The study focused on three major dimensions: technical infrastructure, human resource efficiency, and the effectiveness of management information systems in improving administrative performance. The findings revealed that management information systems significantly contribute to improving access to information and supporting administrative decision-making processes. However, several challenges still exist, including weak technical infrastructure and insufficient continuous training programs for employees. The study recommended enhancing technical infrastructure, increasing training opportunities, and updating administrative systems to align with digital transformation requirements in Libyan higher education institutions.
