الملخص

Poetry instruction has undergone significant transformation in recent years as educators increasingly move beyond traditional teacher-centered and text-focused approaches toward learner-centered, creative, multimodal, dialogic, and technology-enhanced pedagogies. This literature review examines emerging approaches to poetry instruction published between 2020 and 2026, focusing on digital and technology-enhanced learning, multimodality, creative and experiential pedagogy, spoken word and performance, collaborative and dialogic learning, reader-centered approaches, culturally responsive pedagogy, and generative artificial intelligence. The review synthesizes the potential educational benefits and challenges associated with these approaches and considers their implications for contemporary language and literature education. The findings indicate that emerging pedagogies can enhance learner engagement, creativity, critical thinking, literary competence, language development, collaboration, cultural awareness, learner autonomy, and digital literacy. At the same time, challenges include unequal access to technology, limited teacher preparation, assessment difficulties, linguistic and cultural considerations, student participation barriers, and ethical concerns related to generative artificial intelligence. The review argues that innovation should complement rather than replace established practices such as close reading, textual analysis, and attention to poetic form and language. An integrated approach combining literary analysis with creative, dialogic, performative, multimodal, culturally responsive, and responsible technology-supported practices may provide a more comprehensive model of contemporary poetry education. Future research should prioritize empirical, longitudinal, comparative, and EFL-focused studies.
